I was born on August 24th 2002 in Montgomery, Alabama to Charles Biggers Jr. and Jennifer O. Biggers. Having been shown to possess a notable niche for art and creativity from the earliest ages, it was no surprise that I chose to pursue it as my life passion.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

GERMINATION

Many of the things I was into early on influenced my creativity. My mom had an arts and crafts box she kept with a bunch of materials in it and me and my siblings would make things almost every day. I used to draw in all of my books, doodle all over my assignments, daydream a lot and imagine many fantastical scenarios. I was also extremely into video games and cartoons. my first words were Soul Calibur II and I’m not joking!

STORMY WEATHER

Middle school was when things started to get interesting. Due to my fixations and character, I’d say I was definitely seen as eccentric and weird. I remember starting multiple nerdy trends and having quite a reputation of talking a lot and being seen as kind of annoying. My unapologetic mindset often led to ridicule. There were times that I felt like something was wrong with me and I began to close myself off, but my friends and family held me up and I learned to properly embrace my authentic self regardless of what people had to say about it.

THE BIRTH OF SYLL

I started to take my craft seriously around late middle to high school, doing small projects and pieces for others, gradually curating my style and raising my worth and expertise over those years. my artist tag Syll originated from an old Tumblr username and it stuck as my online mutuals referred to me as mainly that. It’s now my brand and I associate it with being in my highest state of mental fortitude and potential! Down below are some early traditional artworks (circa 2016-2020.)

the sea parted for me

Once I graduated, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I moved forward full force and started my business. things were going very slow until I gradually started to gain traction and a bit of visibility in the Black art community. I also collaborated with my sister and Graphic Designer Lauren Biggers on many projects and from there I continued to grow and improve myself enough to where I started getting noticed by higher profile individuals. These factors heightened me enough to truly make it a career.

THE CURRENT TIDE

With more experience and confidence than ever, I am continuing my stride to to greatness in this field. Being able to pursue my passion like this is something I value so deep in a way that words cannot fully convey. I’ve already come a long way in a short time but whew, this is just getting started!
